The Witzels of Frankenberg

The first reference names Hans Witzel, born before 1657. It can be assumed that Hans is short for Johann. No information is given regarding his place of birth.

Second is the family of Philip Valentin Witzel. Information about his wife and two daughters is included. It is clear that Philip was born in Kirchhain and moved to Frankenburg, the birthplace of his wife, Johanna. Frankenberg and Kirchhain are located in North-Western Hesse (Hessen). Fulda lies to the South-East.
